Registration fees include educational material (notes), coffee breaks and light lunches.

Participants and observers will obtain correlative Certifications at the end of the seminar.

As participant can be accepted everyone who has completed the first level of seminars, and everyone who has worked as trainer at TRAG and/or elsewhere.

As observer can be accepted everyone who is interested in the subject of therapeutic riding.

Subjects of the seminar:
  1. 1.The Role of language and communication in therapy - focus on the therapists and his/her interaction with the client.
  2. Problem solving - the participants should report about their own practise and we will do case studies and problem solving.
  3. Awareness through movement: rider and horse (would include techniques of Feldenkrais, transferred to the work with the horse, advanced exercises of vaulting and self experience on the horse during riding).
Introducers
Marietta Schulz


Diploma in Special Education from the University of Cologne with specialised training in Psychoanalytical Family Therapy, Psychomotor Movement Therapy and Therapeutic Riding and Vaulting. Accomplished horsewoman and certified German National Equestrian Federation, Riding Instructor since 1981 and a FN German Vaulting Instructor since 1988.

In 1993, in conjunction with the University of Dortmund and the German Kuratorium for Therapeutic Riding (DKThR), developed a curriculum for Psychoeducational Vaulting/Riding. Leader for instructor certification courses for the DKThR since 1987.

Marietta has conducted workshops for psychoeducational riding and vaulting in the USA, Canada, Austria, Netherlands, Italy, UK, Japan, Dubai and Brazil.

Since 2005 she is leading a Centre for Therapeutic Riding specialized on the treatment of children with ASD. This ThR Centre (called Die Gute Hand) is affiliated to a medico and psychotherapeutic treatment home for children with socio-emotional and mental health diseases.

She organized the last world conference of Therapeutic Riding in Germany 2009

Andrea Pleuser-Bultmann

Diploma in Physical Education at the university of Cologne. Besides she finished special trainings in Psychomotor Movement Therapy, Therapeutic Riding and Vaulting and the Method of Moshe Feldenkrais. She is an experienced horse-woman and a certified instructor in FN-German Vaulting since 1982. She has been an assistant for Instructor Certification Courses of the DKThR (German Kuratorium of Therapeutic Riding) since 1991. Furthermore she leaded workshops (Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne and Munich) concerning the Method of Moshe Feldenkrais combined with riding and courses about Sensory Integration Therapy. Today she lives in southern Germany and works together with a breeder of Andaluzian horses. She trains those horses autonomously and uses them for therapeutic riding with children and grown-ups.

PROGRAMME "YOUTH IN ACTION"



In the framework of Programme "Õouth in Action", (Action 4 - Youth Support Systems 4.3. Training and Networking), Therapeutic Riding Association of Greece materialised activity of job shadowing in collaboration with organisation MLODZIEZOWY DOM KULTURY "DOM HARCERZA" from Cracow of Poland.

Two physiotherapists specialized in hippotherapy stayed from 24/4 until 3/5/2010 in Athens, in order to watch closely the way of work at our organisation and exchange knowledge, experiences and ideas with our trainers and volunteers.

With this visit a collaboration has began between the two organisations that will be continued in the direct future with job shadowing in Cracow and immediately afterwards with common action (seminars, exchanges) in the frame of Youth in Action programme.
