23/1/2006 - The actor George Pyrpassopoulos offers volunteer work in Therapeutic Riding Association of Greece Apart from being a successful and very important actor, George Pyrpassopoulos is a person with sensitivities. His love for human beings and animals is actively proven by his participation as a volunteer in TRAG's programs. TRAG belongs to the volunteering non governmental organizations and is set to assist people with physical deficiencies, Down syndrome, autism, multiple sclerosis, behavioral problems, blindness, deafness, neurological and other health problems. Therapeutic Riding is based on differential rehabilitation programs that use horses as means of therapy, by improving the health and quality of life of people with physical, mental or emotional deficiencies. TRAG operates Monday to Saturday 9.00-12.30 and 15.30-18.30 (except Wednesday and Saturday afternoon). You can pick a day and a schedule (morning or afternoon) that is convenient for you. All we ask is for you to be on time and notify us on time in case you cannot come, so that we are able to replace your shift. There are no special requirements, just love for animals and for human beings. A very experienced instructor will show you what you need to know. The volunteer, walks next to the rider if his/her balance is not satisfactory, the volunteer is shown how to support him/her. He/she can also lead the horse or spend time with a child waiting for his/her turn to ride. He/she can also groom the horses. The Therapeutic Riding sessions take place in TRAG's premises in Kanellopoulou 10 (Katechaki peripheral) in Goudi.
